Love Songs [warner Bros.]
Personnel includes: Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn. Producers: Conway Twitty, David Barnes, Owen Bradley, Loretta Lynn, Ron Chancey. Compilation producer: Andy McKaie. Recorded between 1967 and 1994. Digitally remastered by Doug Schwartz (2001 Audio Mechanics). ConwayTwitty sang relatively few love songs, so this well chosen collection, recorded between 1967 ("Walk Through This World With Me") and 1981 ("Lovin' What Your Lovin' Does to Me"), represents pretty muchthe cream of the crop. It also makes a strong case for Twitty's artistic vision having been in place from the beginning. Despite the changes in technology, the songs here sound like they were recorded at one marathon session rather than over nearly two decades. Highlights include two duets with Loretta Lynn, and "Kiss an Angel Good Mornin', " which, deservedly, was one of his signature tunes.
